What has happened to the U.S. in the last four months? Could anyone have done a better job in alienating nearly the entire world other than our new president? Even the actions that I can agree with have been handled in a callous, chaotic and haphazard way. After years of humanitarian health and nutrition assistance all over the world, it's now all vanished. The suffering in Gaza turned into a joke with the Mediterranean Riviera real estate development suggestion.
Where does this leave American travelers? I can't image imagine a warm reception, even though this is not our fault as individuals. I can imagine a hostile reception in some countries, particularly Muslim ones. Ten of millions of people are angry around the world are angry.
Yesterday at a meeting of Asian allies, our defense secretary talked about an imminent invasion of Taiwan by China. Seriously?
All this makes me wonder how safe it will be for American travelers. I will want to be very selective in where I go.

Hey hey, I can assure you it is still very safe to visit Asia. We are logical and friendly people who recognise that what had happened are caused by some individuals and not the fault of American citizens.
ReplyDeleteI share your concerns and frankly I think a large part of the world is with us. Can't wait until the next election so we can change things up hopefully for the better. Right now it's just like his last term, where you are holding your breath in anticipation of what he's going to do next. It's painfully obvious no one in the Administration knows what they are doing.
