Now two and a half weeks at my new job and everything going well.
No screaming. Everyone is cooperative. No drama.
I was telling a friend about my experience so far. His reaction? This is normal and the way things usually are. You were at a toxic outlier of a workplace before. You really can't compare.
Glad that all is well at work. Your friend is right that you are in a normal workplace now. I've had those toxic workplaces a couple times in my career. Oddly both were family run businesses. You'd think that they would be more friendly but that hasn't been my experience. Lots of drama, cussing, back biting, screaming and yelling. As well as the threat of holding your job over your head and each day I went in I didn't know if it would be my last day. Life is better when you work in a normal work environment but all jobs have their ups and downs as well as the as their unique stresses.
