Close to Home

Last week a temporary worker/college student in our office called to say she had a fever.  She was told to stay home and get tested for Covid.  This weekend we found out she is positive.  I didn't talk to her, but she was at my assistant's desk when I walked up.  I was well more than six feet from her, but lots of other people were close.

Now we wait to see if anyone else in the office becomes sick.  There are a number of 60+ year old people, and I'm worried for them.

What a random virus.  For some people it's just the flu, and for others it's tragic.  A friend living in Europe was in ICU for two weeks including one week on a ventilator.  He survived but now can't even walk up a flight of stairs, and that doesn't seem to be improving.

I will continue to pretty much stay home.  Just an occasional trip to the grocery store.  There are a few guys who want to meet me, but I'll put them off.  I don't want to meet anyone right now.  It's hard to have none of that type of contact, but it's for the best.

  2. Hope that a proper contact tracing was performed and the people who came into close contact with her are quarantined! Stay safe, stay healthy.

  3. I hope you don't get it. This virus is crazy. Some people have no symptoms while others get really sick.
