Different Perspective

I was at a seminar a few days ago.  One guy at my table introduced himself, telling us he was from Iran.  He's 29 years old and had won the green card lottery.  The conversation turned to how does he feel about the new war.  He told us Trump has done everyone in the Iran a huge favor.  This is what most people in Iran wanted, and Trump is the only one with enough courage to do it.  He was explaining that while he is religious, he doesn't support the religious extremism that the regime forces on everyone.  The economy is devastated.  He would never be able to get a job there.  He's very happy for the war.  It's fine with him if Reza Pahlavi, the Crown Prince, returns as the country leader.   He said he would like a shirt with a huge picture of Trump on it.

Wow.  What a different perspective.

  1. For sure that is way different. I expected you to say that he was upset. There's more to this "war" than I think we will ever know. Part of it is timed as a distraction from the Epstein files but I think there is probably more to it than just that. Not a fan of politics. Hope all is well! :)

    1. I think if I had lived in Iran I'd feel the same way. Rights suppressed. Many political prisoners. Women can't work. Executions for any kind of dissent. Just killed >30,000 people because they were protesting. Supporting terrorism in the region. Economy is a disaster.

  2. It is always interesting to hear of different perspectives. The world can be such a sad place sometimes.
