I'm stuck in the weight loss department. I want to lose another 5kg and scale is not moving. I will give keto a try next week. My bf is leaving soon and then I can eat whatever I want. Keto has worked for some friends, and most recently my Singaporean friend blogged about his significant weight loss and the diet that worked for him. I think he was doing keto without realizing it.
I'm not going crazy with it. I won't get urine test strips to see if I'm in ketosis. So I try it for two months and see what happens.

Have you considered Intermittent Fasting?
ReplyDeleteI did IF years back for 6 months, I certainly lost quite amount of fat and weight.
The concept is relatively simple. 16:8 rule : 16 hours of fasting and 8 hours of eating within the window period. You can do it at your time convenience.
The benefits of IF is way more better than keto diet. Also, IF promotes longevity and kill bad cells in your body more efficiently.
There is a lot of research about this eating life style, you may want to look it up.
I've heard about this but didn't investigate yet. Let me look closer at this. If I'm sleeping for 8 of the 16 hours then this might not be so painful.
ReplyDeleteLast time I broke fast at 11 am til 7 pm. In between this window period work best for me as I eat my lunch at 12pm and dinner at 6pm.
DeleteFasting from 7pm to 11am should be no problem. I will need to make an exception for coffee at 7am. With zero calorie monk fruit sweetener and a little milk shouldn't be so bad. I could do keto and IF at the same time.
DeleteHey, Try keeping count of your calories (food intake, exercise and BMR). Work towards a daily deficit and you should see your weight drop gradually. And as you do so, make sure you have a balanced diet that is skewed towards higher fibre and protein vs fats and carbs. I got ChatGPT to monitor and do the trending for me.
ReplyDeleteBtw, looking at the diagram, I can say my diet was not keto per se. I continued to enjoy an occasional cakes, bread, rice, carbs, etc. I’m also very conscious what I eat and maintain a diet that helps to build muscles and burn fats; and control the amount such that I maintain a daily calorie deficit.
ReplyDeleteI think a pure keto diet is hard to do. I will try for a "keto skewed" diet.
