I'm headed home after a ten day trip primarily visiting family. It was good to spend some time with family I don't see so often. No travel for a while. I just want to spend some time at home. I'm fortunate to live in a place I really like, and I'm thankful for that.
A priority right now is to get stronger. I randomly came across this Vietnamese guy on TikTok. He lives in the Bay Area and is documenting his fitness journey. He is already in good shape. He's kind of muscular, but not massive. I'm not sure why I'm so interested in this guy, but he's an inspiration. As I watch him work out at the gym I'm amazed at how strong he is. You look at this guy and you wouldn't guess he's so strong. Doing pull-ups with a giant weight hanging from his waist. He's lifting with surprisingly heavy weights. I'm so far from that. But I'll get better. I have more time now and want to achieve this goal.
I'm thinking about my plans for next year. I'm going to find some work for a few months, and I'm thinking about a longer trip.
Different men have different kind of fitness goal. He could be very strong in his upper body but his lower body could be lacking. Or he can be both as strong. It is good to look him up as inspiration, but in the long run one would start comparing the beauty of standard with others. When the goal wasn't close to what you intended to achieve, you would get frustrated and start to look for shortcuts (steroid injection) to fast track. This is why I stay away from IG, tiktok, they gave me the sense of body dysmorphia.
ReplyDeleteI need to set my own goals. If someone has some good tips for getting fit I am happy to copy them. Everyone is unique. I'll won't get as strong as this guy, but I'll for sure make progress from where I am.
DeleteI try and stay fit and I do enough cardio I think, but I know I could stand to do some muscle building, but I am not a fan of lifting weights, etc.
ReplyDeleteI am reading about longevity and aging. Strength is very important. I used to be almost all cardio, now I've added a lot of strength training. Lifting or body weight.
DeleteThat’s certainly a strong motivation to work out! And I’m sure with a better body, the real benefit of better health will happen (if it has not already)!
ReplyDeleteWay to go Rob!
