Boots 👍

My bf is here and we just finished watching all eight episodes of Boots on Netflix.  Another blogger had recommended the series.  My bf didn't want to watch it, but then when he saw that it was highly rated in China, he wanted to watch it.

The Pentagon called the show "woke garbage."  Why?  The show was realistic and based on a true story book "Pink Marine."

Set in 1990, this is the story of a gay teen (Cameron, pictured) who follows his best friend (Ray) into the Marine Corps.  The show follows these two, and other recruits, as they struggle through boot camp.  There's a happy ending as the two successfully complete the grueling course and graduate together.   The other recruits kind of know that Cameron is gay, and most of the recruits stay away but he really isn't harassed so much.  It was great to see that his straight best friend Ray sticks with him, no matter what anyone else may think.

Some unexpected twists -- one of the drill sergeants is gay and being investigated by NCIS.  He had an affair with a gay major in Guam.  There are some flashback scenes to these two in bed.  I didn't expect this.

Some frontal nudity scenes which I also didn't expect.

Overall I was positive on the series.  It was a happy ending show and in the end no one seems to care that Cameron is gay.  Maybe not so realistic, but this is TV.

  3. The moment the drill sergeant laid eyes on Cameron on the first day in the bootcamp, I knew he was gay right away. I had the feeling he was in love at first sight with Cameron. Turned out he wasn't but just wanted him to be the best version of himself.

The drill sergeant is smoking hot. But I am more into the gay major in Guam. Hairy and dark skin toned and fit but not too shredded like the D.S. He is soooooo my type. <3
