My trip to Asia is booked. I've added Vietnam to the itinerary because if I'm going to fly to Asia I need to add another country to my list. I've been wanting to go there, and it's inexpensive to add on another week in this location. I'm really happy with the flights I got and the cost.
My bf's family introduced him to a woman in their city as a possible wife. It's an interesting process in China. After they met twice, at large dinners with relatives from both sides, the woman's parents communicated their requirements. This is for the dowry and other asks. In this case they wanted a large dowry, a new condo and a car. My bf's parents thought some of this was excessive. My bf has never met her 1-1.
Now the parents have a new great idea -- he should find a wife in Vietnam. Their rationale is that Vietnamese people look like Chinese people, and the country is nearby. No dowry requirement or other demands either. Wow, interesting for me to follow all this drama. Good thing he's going to Vietnam with me, but he made it clear he won't be looking for a wife.
A new condominium is too much to ask for when your bf isn't even working yet. And very unlikely the bank would approve the loan. Good thing his parents is sensible enough.
