If you read anything about exercise having recovery days is stressed.
On Tuesday I ran three miles. My hip was hurting a bit on the left side. Not seriously. No big deal. Does anyone run and have no pain in the aftermath?
On Thursday I did some weight training. My back was hurting a bit the next day. Again, not a big deal.
On Friday I received the weighted vest. It's 20 lbs. I put it on and walked around. Really didn't seem that heavy. I decided to go for a walk to try it out. I walked 1.5 miles. It really didn't raise my heart rate as I expected. I didn't see my heart rate go above 85. I was about 300 feet from my house, and my hip started seriously hurting. Like so bad I was wondering if I could make it home. Once I took the vest off and sat down it felt better. I took one Tylenol (which I never do) before bed, and the pain was pretty much gone by the next morning.
Saturday I took it very easy. Lesson learned -- recovery days are necessary.
Today I rode my bike for 40 minutes. It was hot, but it was a decent workout.
My clothes are getting looser....I can feel it. But the scale is not going down by very much. Weight loss seems slower this time.

I am very stoked that you are making progress. Progress is certainly slow when losing fat but don't look into scale too much. The most obvious changes you can see when you losing fat is to look at your mirror -- not your scale. I suggest you to incorporate stretching before bed time every night. To help loosen up yourself and sleep better. Also, you should also increase your protein intake for recovery - like eat more eggs or meat or whatever source of protein you prefer.
ReplyDeleteI did increase my protein intake to over 125 g per day. Eggs, chicken are good sources. I hope I can get to 72 kg by end of July.
DeleteI learned a long time ago to listen to my body. When I didn't I always paid a price with some form of pain. You will reach your goal, have faith and keep fighting the good fight. Cheers!
