Last week a temporary worker/college student in our office called to say she had a fever. She was told to stay home and get tested for Covid. This weekend we found out she is positive. I didn't talk to her, but she was at my assistant's desk when I walked up. I was well more than six feet from her, but lots of other people were close.
Now we wait to see if anyone else in the office becomes sick. There are a number of 60+ year old people, and I'm worried for them.
What a random virus. For some people it's just the flu, and for others it's tragic. A friend living in Europe was in ICU for two weeks including one week on a ventilator. He survived but now can't even walk up a flight of stairs, and that doesn't seem to be improving.
I will continue to pretty much stay home. Just an occasional trip to the grocery store. There are a few guys who want to meet me, but I'll put them off. I don't want to meet anyone right now. It's hard to have none of that type of contact, but it's for the best.
smart of you. that is scary about your co-worker.
ReplyDeleteHope that a proper contact tracing was performed and the people who came into close contact with her are quarantined! Stay safe, stay healthy.
ReplyDeleteScary. Hope no one else gets it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you don't get it. This virus is crazy. Some people have no symptoms while others get really sick.
